Amber Miles, Trainee

Amber (they/she) attends California Institute of Integral Studies, where she is completing a master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. As a trainee at the Child Therapy Institute, Amber seeks to help clients explore their emotional worlds through play and arts practices.

Bringing compassion and humility to every interaction, Amber follows clients’ leads and empowers them to express themselves authentically. She believes creativity, play, and humor are transformative tools for healing and fulfillment. Her curiosity drives her to continuously learn, and she is interested in furthering research in emerging fields, such as roleplaying game therapy — which blends expressive arts therapy and play therapy in a powerful way.

Prior to joining CTI, Amber worked full time as an educator, teaching children of all ages and partnering with their caregivers. She has also coached other educators, supporting them in developing trauma-informed, neuroaffirming classrooms. Amber holds a Master’s of Arts in Teaching (with a focus in multi-subject elementary education).
