My name is Mary Sample-Mattos. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), having earned my graduate degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in their Expressive Arts Therapy (EXA) program, which greatly influences my therapeutic approach. I previously completed my practicum as a Mental Health Intern in the San Francisco Unified School District through the Youth Services Bureau of the YMCA of San Francisco. With over a decade of experience as an educator in a Montessori-based school in Marin and a background deeply rooted in Waldorf pedagogy, I have developed a deep understanding of child development, as well as the ability to create a safe, engaging, and supportive space for children to explore and express their emotions.

My work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship and that with the right support, children and families can access their own strengths, navigate challenges, and grow together with greater connection and confidence.
