Samantha Watson-Alvarado, LMFT

Samantha (Sam) was born, raised, and continues to reside in Contra Costa County. She is a mother to two children. She has worked at the Early Childhood Mental Health Program (ECMHP) since 2013 and has held various roles. Sam previously worked as an Early Childhood Educator at a handful of preschools in the bay area. Having provided 17 years of direct services to families with children 0-6, she utilizes her experience as a teacher and a therapist to enrich environments that serve children and families to incorporate a developmental and therapeutic lens, with an emphasis on collaboration.

Since 2022, Samantha has held an executive management role at ECMHP where she is responsible for program oversight and development. Most recently Samantha has been completing courses to earn a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Cal State East Bay and has co-authored a text Supporting Young Children to Cope, Build Resilience, and Heal From Trauma Through Play: A Practical Guide for Early Childhood Educators. In her spare time, Sam enjoys traveling with her family, spending time with all her animals, and being a coffee connoisseur.
